Recycled batteries and the environment
Disposal of waste needs to be done in an intelligent manner. Indiscriminate disposal of waste especially non biodegradable waste with significant chemical content in it can lead to potential hazards to the environment, and these hazards could also be long term. Proper disposal of waste needs to be done in an effective manner to pave the way for sustainable development. If sustainable development is not brought about then a number of detrimental changes might occur to the environment at large that would cause irreversible harm to the environment. The future of battery recycling holds a number of promises for the environment. Only about five percent of batteries are recycled in the world every year. If initiatives are taken to increase this number by around forty to seventy percent then a number of ideals can be achieved. Environmental awareness should be spread for battery recycling to occur in an organized way. Thus it is imperative that we initiate proper battery disposal for battery recycling.
